An orchestral program for children, Kidzymphony is only comparable to few other projects in the US. It is modeled after Venezuela’s Sistema, a massive program that shows the social benefits of learning music in a group setting. Kidzymphony is housed at the Meeting Street Academy in Charleston, SC, and involves 21 young children who are learning to play violin, viola or cello. Javier Orman (Program Director), Calley Moore and Madeline Hershenson are the teachers.
